So here we are at the beginning of another year. Contrary to popular opinion - that it’s just cold, wet, and downright miserable - I see January as a wildly exciting month full of hope and optimism*.
I’ve curated this deep winter color palette to offset those January blues with warming reds that will inspire you to take slow, steady action, paired with restful neutrals that will keep you gently grounded.
Slow and steady wins the race!
There is a tendency to start the year all guns blazing - new year, new you and all that nonsense - but this inevitably leads to burnout, frustration and a smidge of guilt.
These are the negative qualities of red that you want to avoid.
Red has the longest wavelength and the slowest vibration. Darker shades like scarlet and burgundy are assertive but not aggressive and will motivate you to go after your new year goals while remaining firmly grounded.
Think of the embers of a fire that has been left unattended - they’re simmering gently, waiting to be stoked and set alight when the time is right.
Flashes of coral and fire-engine red bring passion and excitement for the year ahead and are the ideal shades to spark you into action.
This is a palette that is strong yet safe, and blends power with poise.
Go forth and conquer 2025, red will give you the courage to do so - but there’s no rush!
*it’s got nothing to do with it being my birthday month ;-)
